About the Initiative
The Get Back to Work Faster Initiative is focused on helping out-of-work professionals leverage job creation strategies to:
- Identify & pursue income-producing opportunities.
- Bring in money during their job search.
- Land new positions that play to their strengths.
- Become the "must hire" candidate, without competitors.
Best of all, these strategies keep individuals feeling vital, productive and sharp. This is crucial during this challenging time when they're fearful of running out of funds and never working again.
Launched in May 2009, the Get Back to Work Initiative offers job seekers fresh strategies and support via a downloadable book, monthly webinars with leading experts on hot topics and numerous resources.
How it All Got Started
When Jill Konrath, CEO of the initiative, started seeing her friends and family lose their jobs through no fault of their own, she decided to take action. After 20+ years as a business consultant, she'd mastered the ability to create jobs/projects out of thin air - even when there was no money in the budget. She also was acutely aware that the traditional job search model was grossly outdated and fatally flawed.
What started out as a plan to write a short ebook soon blossomed into much more — this website, a paperback book, and a webinar series featuring career experts who willingly share their advice.

Jill is the driver of the Get Back to Work Faster initiative & author of Get Back to Work Faster. She's also an internationally-recognized sales strategist & an in-demand speaker at annual sales meetings, kick-off events and professional conferences.
Her specialty? Helping salespeople, entrepreneurs and professionals crack into new accounts, create opportunities and win big contracts.
She's also the author of TWO bestselling sales books:

Jill first started coaching people on job creation strategies over 25 years ago and has been practicing them herself ever since - doing work she loves in companies that she wants to work for. Over the years, she’s turned down many lucrative job offers, preferring to run her own business.
As a thought leader in the selling and marketing arena, Jill also publishes an industry-leading newsletter with nearly 30,000 subscribers from around the world. In addition, she's launched a number of initiatives in the past few years:

She and her husband Fred share their home in White Bear Lake, Minnesota with Cali, the cat. Their daughter Katie works in marketing and social media and their son Ryan just landed a job with the University of North Dakota Aerospace program.

Jeff Ogden, the Job Seeker Profiled in Get Back to Work Faster
Jeff is an experienced sales and marketing professional. He spent many years selling to the software industry where he achieved some major successes. Most recently he headed up global sales and marketing for a UK firm, helping them become the 14th fastest growing company in Great Britain. During his job search, Jeff set up his own lead gen firm and wrote a white paper on "Finding New Customers."
In his spare time, Jeff coaches Little League Baseball and hangs out with his wife and their three boys.
